The line: Flaming Gorge Reservoir, Blacks Fork River and Green River
WGFD's 2026 Chapter 6 walks the line around deer hunt area 132 corner by corner. It starts where the Flaming Gorge Reservoir crosses the Wyoming-Utah state line. On the way round it follows Interstate Highway 80, and Flaming Gorge Reservoir, Blacks Fork River and Green River. Read it as the legal edge of your license rather than as a hint about animals. The full text is in Section 7 of that chapter, with this year's season dates and license limitations in Section 2.
Ground WGFD opens: Sweetwater 2 and Uinta 6
WGFD also lists 7 Walk-In Areas covering about 10,926 acres open for deer, among them Sweetwater 2, Uinta 6 and Uinta 7. WGFD's 2026 regulations open Access Yes land only for the species and dates listed for each area, with each area's own rules on WGFD's site and no motorized travel unless WGFD says otherwise.
High ground inside the line: Thunderbolt Mountain, Cottonwood Mountain and Buck Fever Ridge
Named high points inside deer hunt area 132 include Thunderbolt Mountain at 9,538 feet, Cottonwood Mountain at 9,431 feet, Buck Fever Ridge at 9,260 feet, Table Mountain at 9,202 feet and Hickey Mountain at 8,974 feet. Several carry a public-land flag in our data, which makes them the first places to try for a view. White-tailed deer hold to cover — river bottoms, brushy draws and timber edges — and rarely stray far from it.
Holding ground: Slab Park, Gourley Meadows and West Canyon
Below them sit Slab Park at 8,761 feet, Gourley Meadows at 8,597 feet, West Canyon at 7,764 feet, Middle Canyon at 7,758 feet and Cedar Basin at 7,652 feet. That is the low ground — where animals drop when they are pushed or when the weather turns.
Water: Chicken Spring, Soaphole Spring and Rocky Springs
Named water inside the line includes Chicken Spring, Soaphole Spring, Rocky Springs, Webb Spring, Shurtliff Spring and Pitcher Spring. Nothing in the data says which of it runs in autumn, so a scouting trip earns its fuel.
