AI Hunt Advisor

A draw-strategy and hunt-planning chat assistant for western big game hunters. Ask about unit selection, point burn timing, archery vs rifle tradeoffs, and what your saved hunts and preference points actually mean for your odds.

Who this is for

Western big game hunters who already have draw-odds questions but want a second opinion grounded in their own point totals, saved units, and harvest history. Most useful for hunters with 1–10 preference points across multiple states.

How it works

Built on Anthropic's Claude. Pulls live context from your ProHunt saved hunts, preference-point tracker, and harvest log when you're signed in. Returns reasoning alongside the recommendation so you can sanity-check it against the underlying data.

What hunters actually ask

Real example questions and the angle the advisor takes on each:

  • "I have 4 Colorado elk preference points — should I burn them this year or wait?"

Pulls 6-year point creep history for the units within reach at 4 points, compares against your stated weapon and season tolerance, flags any unit where 2026 quotas or applicants moved enough to change the answer.

  • "Compare archery and rifle elk odds for Wyoming non-resident at 3 points."

Side-by-side: archery draw odds in the units you're eligible for, rifle draw odds in the same units, weather/timing tradeoffs, point cost differential.

  • "What's a realistic 5-year point plan if I want a premium Arizona elk tag?"

Walks through Arizona's bonus-point structure and current premium-unit point requirements, plus what to apply for in years 1–4 while accumulating.

Methodology & limitations

  • Draw-odds context is sourced from each state's wildlife agency. See Data Sources for the full list.
  • Recommendations reflect the most recent published draw cycle. Mid-cycle quota changes announced after a refresh may not yet be incorporated.
  • The advisor is a planning aid, not the official regulation booklet. Always verify season dates, fees, and rules with the agency before applying or hunting.
  • AI responses are reviewed against our AI Content Policy. The advisor will not generate fabricated field anecdotes; it sticks to data and reasoning.
