The line: Bighorn River, Nowood River and Murphy Dome-Mud Creek
WGFD's 2026 Chapter 5 walks the line around antelope hunt area 114 corner by corner. It starts at the confluence of Walters Draw and the Bighorn River. On the way round it follows U.S. Highway 16, B.L.M. Road 1411, B.L.M. Road 1404 and B.L.M. Road 1409, and Bighorn River, Nowood River, Murphy Dome-Mud Creek and Nowater Creek. Read it as the legal edge of your license rather than as a hint about animals. The full text is in Section 5 of that chapter, with this year's season dates and license limitations in Section 2.
Not the same ground as the other hunt area 114s
WGFD numbers each species' hunt areas on its own grid, so the number 114 also belongs to its deer hunt area 114. None of it shares a county with this one. A license is good only in the hunt area of its own species, so this page is about the antelope area, and the cards at the foot of the page link the others.
Ground WGFD opens: Washakie 26 and Big Horn 30
WGFD also lists 9 Walk-In Areas covering about 3,835 acres open for antelope, among them Washakie 26, Big Horn 30 and Big Horn 35. WGFD's 2026 regulations open Access Yes land only for the species and dates listed for each area, with each area's own rules on WGFD's site and no motorized travel unless WGFD says otherwise.
High ground inside the line: South Butte, North Butte and Middle Butte
Named high points inside antelope hunt area 114 include South Butte at 5,478 feet, North Butte at 5,438 feet, Middle Butte at 5,378 feet, Big Cedar Ridge at 5,296 feet and Zimmerman Buttes at 5,227 feet. Several carry a public-land flag in our data, which makes them the first places to try for a view. Pronghorn live in the open and trust their eyes, which is the whole problem.
Holding ground: Scorpion Draw, Antelope Draw and Sand Draw
Below them sit Scorpion Draw at 4,488 feet, Antelope Draw at 4,468 feet, Sand Draw at 4,458 feet, Murphy Dome Draw at 4,455 feet and Deadman Draw at 4,414 feet. That is the low ground — where animals drop when they are pushed or when the weather turns.
Water: Faure Well, Pratt Well and McCarthy Well
Named water inside the line includes Faure Well, Pratt Well, McCarthy Well, Zimmerman Springs, Mills Well and Sand Creek Well. Nothing in the data says which of it runs in autumn, so a scouting trip earns its fuel.
Reading the land status
Named ground inside antelope hunt area 114 runs from 4,039 feet to 5,478 feet. Those are the heights of the features GNIS names, which bound the range from inside rather than measure it.

Open in Draw Odds EngineWyoming Game and Fish's 2026 demand report for pronghorn in antelope hunt area 114, residents and nonresidents kept apart because they draw from different license pools:
- Type 1 (any antelope), residents: 267 first-choice applicants for 37 licenses, 13.9% drawn
- Type 1 (any antelope), nonresidents: 75 first-choice applicants for 1 license, 1.3% drawn
Wyoming residents draw pronghorn licenses without preference points; nonresidents draw part of their quota on points, highest balance first (Chapter 44, Section 19), and the nonresident figures above are from WGFD's random draw. WGFD publishes no preference-point level at which a hunt draws, so none is given here. Every figure was checked against WGFD's demand-report PDFs on 2026-08-10.
