Where to Find Pronghorn in Antelope Hunt Area 91

The Wyoming Game and Fish Commission names antelope hunt area 91 "Dry Sandy". It runs to about 688 square miles, in Sublette (76%), Sweetwater (16%) and Fremont (8%) counties. WGFD reports these pronghorn as the Sublette herd unit, which also takes in antelope hunt areas 85, 86, 87, 88, 89, 90, 92 and 93 and 3 more. What WGFD publishes for the area is its boundary and its harvest; where the pronghorn stand inside it is our reading of the ground, and the two are kept apart below.

The line: Big Sandy Reservoir, Big Sandy River and Big Sandy Reservoir Dam

WGFD's 2026 Chapter 5 walks the line around antelope hunt area 91 corner by corner. It starts at the town of Farson and U.S. Highway 191. On the way round it follows U.S. Highway 191, Sweetwater County Road 28 and Wyoming Highway 28, and Big Sandy Reservoir, Big Sandy River, Big Sandy Reservoir Dam and Continental Divide. That is a legal description, not a habitat map, and it is the text a warden reads you against. The full text is in Section 5 of that chapter, with this year's season dates and license limitations in Section 2.

Not the same ground as the other hunt area 91s

WGFD numbers each species' hunt areas on its own grid, so the number 91 also belongs to its elk hunt area 91. None of it shares a county with this one. A license is good only in the hunt area of its own species, so this page is about the antelope area, and the cards at the foot of the page link the others.

Wilderness inside the line: Bridger Wilderness

About 9% of antelope hunt area 91 lies in the Bridger Wilderness. WGFD's 2026 regulations print the rule that matters there: no nonresident may hunt big game in a designated wilderness area unless accompanied by a licensed professional guide or a resident guide, with at least one guide for every two nonresident hunters. Inside the wilderness there are no roads, so every animal there comes out on your back or on a horse.

High ground inside the line: Temple Peak, East Temple Peak and Dog Tooth Peak

Named high points inside antelope hunt area 91 include Temple Peak at 12,893 feet, East Temple Peak at 12,583 feet, Dog Tooth Peak at 12,467 feet, Big Sandy Mountain at 12,382 feet and Mount Nystrom at 12,274 feet. Several carry a public-land flag in our data, which makes them the first places to try for a view. Pronghorn stay on the open rolling ground and leave the timber alone.

Holding ground: Long Draw, Alkali Draw and Long Draw

Below them sit Long Draw at 7,072 feet, Alkali Draw at 7,070 feet, Long Draw at 7,007 feet, Eden Valley at 6,709 feet and Bear Trap at 8,373 feet. Those are the basins and bottoms of the area, and they are what you glass into from above.

Water: Halls Meadow Spring, Spicer Well Number 2 and Monument Spring

Named water inside the line includes Halls Meadow Spring, Spicer Well Number 2, Monument Spring and Chicken Spring. Nothing in the data says which of it runs in autumn, so a scouting trip earns its fuel.

Wyoming Game and Fish's 2026 demand report for pronghorn in antelope hunt area 91, residents and nonresidents kept apart because they draw from different license pools:

WGFD publishes no preference-point level at which a hunt draws, so none is given here. Every figure was checked against WGFD's demand-report PDFs on 2026-08-10.
