Where to Find Pronghorn in Antelope Hunt Area 67

The Wyoming Game and Fish Commission names antelope hunt area 67 "Sand Draw". It runs to about 800 square miles, entirely in Fremont County. WGFD reports these pronghorn as the Beaver Rim herd unit, which also takes in antelope hunt areas 65, 66, 68, 69, 74 and 106. The boundary and the harvest figures are WGFD's. The read of the country inside them is ours, and it says so where it starts.

Where antelope hunt area 67 begins and ends

WGFD's 2026 Chapter 5 walks the line around antelope hunt area 67 corner by corner. It starts where U.S. Highway 20-26 crosses the east boundary of the Wind River Reservation. On the way round it follows U.S. Highway 20-26, Fremont County Road 507, Wyoming Highway 136 and Fremont County Road 5, and Wind River. Read it as the legal edge of your license rather than as a hint about animals. The full text is in Section 5 of that chapter, with this year's season dates and license limitations in Section 2.

Not the same ground as the other hunt area 67s

WGFD numbers each species' hunt areas on its own grid, so the number 67 also belongs to its elk and deer hunt areas 67. Only the elk area shares a county with this one. A license is good only in the hunt area of its own species, so this page is about the antelope area, and the cards at the foot of the page link the others.

Ground WGFD opens: Fremont 31 and Fremont 16

WGFD also lists 6 Walk-In Areas covering about 31,086 acres open for antelope, among them Fremont 31, Fremont 16 and Fremont 24. WGFD's 2026 regulations open Access Yes land only for the species and dates listed for each area, with each area's own rules on WGFD's site and no motorized travel unless WGFD says otherwise.

High ground inside the line: Rock Creek Mountain, Beaver Rim and Oil Mountain

Named high points inside antelope hunt area 67 include Rock Creek Mountain at 7,156 feet, Beaver Rim at 7,138 feet, Oil Mountain at 6,705 feet, Signor Ridge at 6,468 feet and Blue Ridge at 6,402 feet. Several carry a public-land flag in our data, which makes them the first places to try for a view. Pronghorn live in the open and trust their eyes, which is the whole problem.

Holding ground: Middle Fork Horseshoe Draw, East Fork Horseshoe Draw and Ohio Draw

Below them sit Middle Fork Horseshoe Draw at 5,946 feet, East Fork Horseshoe Draw at 5,878 feet, Ohio Draw at 5,858 feet, Blue Gulch at 5,832 feet and Fraser Draw at 5,772 feet. That is the low ground — where animals drop when they are pushed or when the weather turns.

Water: Bear Spring, Horsethief Springs and O'Brien Spring

Named water inside the line includes Bear Spring, Horsethief Springs and O'Brien Spring. Nothing in the data says which of it runs in autumn, so a scouting trip earns its fuel.

Reading the land status

Named ground inside antelope hunt area 67 runs from 5,023 feet to 7,156 feet. Those are the heights of the features GNIS names, which bound the range from inside rather than measure it.

Wyoming Game and Fish's 2026 demand report for pronghorn in antelope hunt area 67, residents and nonresidents kept apart because they draw from different license pools:

  • Type 1 (any antelope), residents: 718 first-choice applicants for 155 licenses, 21.6% drawn
  • Type 1 (any antelope), nonresidents: 256 first-choice applicants for 6 licenses, 2.3% drawn

Wyoming residents draw pronghorn licenses without preference points; nonresidents draw part of their quota on points, highest balance first (Chapter 44, Section 19), and the nonresident figures above are from WGFD's random draw.
