Where to Find Pronghorn in Antelope Hunt Area 113

The Wyoming Game and Fish Commission names antelope hunt area 113 "Salt Creek". It runs to about 309 square miles, in Johnson (86%) and Natrona (14%) counties. WGFD reports these pronghorn as the Crazy Woman herd unit, which also takes in antelope hunt area 22. What WGFD publishes for the area is its boundary and its harvest; where the pronghorn stand inside it is our reading of the ground, and the two are kept apart below.

Where antelope hunt area 113 begins and ends

WGFD's 2026 Chapter 5 defines antelope hunt area 113 as beginning at the junction of Wyoming Highway 192 and Wyoming Highway 387; southwesterly along Wyoming Highway 387 to Interstate Highway 25; northwesterly along said highway to Wyoming Highway 192; easterly and southerly along said highway to Wyoming Highway 387. That is a legal description, not a habitat map, and it is the text a warden reads you against. The full text is in Section 5 of that chapter, with this year's season dates and license limitations in Section 2.

Not the same ground as the other hunt area 113s

WGFD numbers each species' hunt areas on its own grid, so the number 113 also belongs to its elk and deer hunt areas 113. None of them shares a county with this one. A license is good only in the hunt area of its own species, so this page is about the antelope area, and the cards at the foot of the page link the others.

High ground inside the line: Six Horse Hill, Rock Ridge and Chalk Butte

Named high points inside antelope hunt area 113 include Six Horse Hill at 5,245 feet, Rock Ridge at 4,845 feet, Chalk Butte at 4,712 feet and The Chimney at 4,443 feet. Several carry a public-land flag in our data, which makes them the first places to try for a view. Pronghorn live in the open and trust their eyes, which is the whole problem.

Holding ground: North Sherwood Draw, Joe Begant Draw and Jones Draw

Below them sit North Sherwood Draw at 4,931 feet, Joe Begant Draw at 4,931 feet, Jones Draw at 4,906 feet, Reeves Draw at 4,891 feet and Anderson Draw at 4,850 feet. Those are the basins and bottoms of the area, and they are what you glass into from above.

Reading the land status

Named ground inside antelope hunt area 113 runs from 4,393 feet to 5,245 feet. Those are the heights of the features GNIS names, which bound the range from inside rather than measure it.

Wyoming Game and Fish's 2026 demand report for pronghorn in antelope hunt area 113, residents and nonresidents kept apart because they draw from different license pools:

  • Type 2 (any antelope), nonresidents: 117 first-choice applicants for 10 licenses, 8.5% drawn

WGFD publishes no preference-point level at which a hunt draws, so none is given here. Every figure was checked against WGFD's demand-report PDFs on 2026-08-10.
