Mount Taylor Upper Slopes (9,000–11,300 ft)
Aspen and mixed conifer on Mount Taylor's flanks hold mature bucks pre-rut.
Ponderosa Benches (7,500–9,000 ft)
Classic western mule deer country — glass ponderosa/oak edges morning and evening.
PJ Foothills (6,500–7,500 ft)
Lower PJ/oak on the east and north sides holds deer through late rifle season.
