Unit 267 (Black Mountains and Cathedral Peaks)
Nevada Hunting Guide — Bighorn Sheep
Unit 267 lies in central Clark County, mostly the Black Mountains between the North Shore Road and Lake Mead, inside the Lake Mead National Recreation Area. Desert bighorns range from rolling hills on the west to the sheer cliffs of Cathedral Peaks. The National Park Service administers the ground, parts of it are wilderness, and some hunters use boats to reach their country.

Where to Find Desert Bighorn Sheep in Unit 267: Cathedral Peaks, Pinto Ridge and Razorback Ridge
The Black Mountains above Lake Mead
Unit 267 is mostly the Black Mountains. NDOW places them south of State Route 167, the North Shore Road, and north of Lake Mead, from Callville Bay Road on the west, extending east and north to Echo Bay. North of Echo Bay the unit has few if any bighorns, so the sheep country is that stretch of mountains along the lake.
The ground changes a lot from west to east. On the western edge of bighorn habitat the terrain is rolling hills. At the other extreme are the sheer, vertical cliffs of Cathedral Peaks.
Cathedral Peaks, Boathouse Cove Road, Pinto Ridge and Razorback Ridge
NDOW's list of areas is short. Cathedral Peaks, the points reached by Boathouse Cove Road, Pinto Ridge and Razorback Ridge are where the sheet sends hunters. Those four mix cliff country and ridgelines, so pick one or two and learn them well.
A boat is worth thinking about for scouting. NDOW notes that some hunters use one to learn their area and to reach points that would be harder to get to on foot.
The ground NDOW draws for this tag
A bighorn sheep tag for this group is good in unit 267, about 378 square miles measured on NDOW's own boundary, in Clark County. The highest named points are Hamblin Mountain (3,284 ft), Boulder Peak (3,056 ft) and Pyramid Peak (3,012 ft), and the lowest named ground sits near 1,081 feet. We don't print a land-status split for Nevada groups, because the figures we held didn't come from BLM's surface-management data; check BLM's current map for private parcels before you cross a fence or a cattle guard. GNIS names 6 springs inside it, Cottonwood Spring, Sandstone Spring, Swamp Spring and Physic Spring among them.

Data from 2025 draw results. Each row is one residency pool — read the label before the number. This agency publishes no point thresholds, so the Pts column stays blank and these are pool odds, not what a point total draws.
