Moose Hunting in Unit 10A

Unit 10A covers a remote section of the Clearwater National Forest north and west of the main Unit 10 corridor. Wet Benches and Seeps

Flat benches above the main drainages that hold seeps and wet meadows attract moose throughout the day. These areas are harder to locate from roads but reward hunters who hike in from the main access routes.

Rut Crossings and Travel Routes

During October, bulls travel established corridors between drainages seeking cows. Look for well-worn trails through willow tangles, fresh rubs on small conifers, and wallows in muddy creek crossings. These sign clusters indicate prime rut travel corridors.

How to Hunt Moose in Unit 10A
